Explorer Scouts from our Bedale ESU have recently returned from the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) in Switzerland. They certainly made the most of their time over there:

Hosted over 70 Portuguese Scouts for tea and home made scones

Hiked to the Dolderhorn, over a glacier at Lotschenpass and onto Lake Blausee

Got the chance to ride the Rodelbahn (mountain coaster)

They took a gondola up to visit the UNESCO World heritage site of Lake Oeschinensee

Went down the white water rapids on the Lutschine river at the foot of the Eiger

Visited the ice caves and observatory of the Jungfraujoch

Hiked to Grindelwald

Visited the historical castle and town of Thun, enjoyed a relaxing swim with a view at Kandersteg’s pool

Took part in the Kander challenge with Scouts from around the World.

While there, the Explorers achieved 3 KISC challenge badges and made memories to last a lifetime

We’d like to say thank you to the adult volunteers who gave up their time with their families to help these Explorers make memories that will last a lifetime!
